Cabbage Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head cabbage, cut up
    1 onion, chopped
    1 green pepper, if desired
    2/3 c. sugar
    1/2 c. salad oil
    1/2 c. vinegar
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cover cabbage, onion, and pepper with ice and let stand 30 minutes to 1 hour, then drain cabbage very well and mix.
    Mix sugar, oil, vinegar, celery seed and salt. Pour over cabbage and refrigerate.
    May adjust amount of salt and vinegar to your taste. Will keep in refrigerator 1 week.
