Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 oz. yeast
    2 Tbsp. lukewarm water
    1 c. milk
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 tsp. salt
    1 heaping Tbsp. lard
    1 c. water
    6 c. flour
Preparation
    Soften yeast in lukewarm water, then scald milk.
    Add sugar, salt, shortening and water.
    Allow to cool to lukewarm.
    Add yeast and mix.
    Add flour gradually and mix.
    Knead dough until spongy, then put in bowl and let rise to double in bulk.
    Punch down and let rise again.
    Divide in two equal portions.
    Form into loaves. Place in greased loaf pans.
    Let rise until double in bulk.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 35 to 45 minutes or until done.
