Ingredients

1 lb. light brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1 1/2 c. mixture of shortening and butter
5 eggs
3 c. flour
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cream shortening and butter with sugar adding one egg at a time.
Sift dry ingredients.
Add remaining ingredients.
Mix and pour into greased and floured tube pan and bake at 325\u00b0 or 350\u00b0. When cake tester comes out clean, the cake is done.
Cool for 10 minutes, then invert onto serving dish.
