Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
    1/3 c. sugar
    1 c. dark molasses
    3/4 c. hot water
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 egg
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    3/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 325\u00b0.
    Grease and flour square 9 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
    Measure all ingredients into large mixing bowl.
    Blend 1/2 minute on low speed, scraping bowl constantly.
    Beat 3 minutes at medium speed, scraping bowl occasionally.
    Pour into pan.
    Bake 50 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
    Serve warm and, if desired, with whipping cream.
    Also good with applesauce.
