Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 stick butter or margarine
1 c. sugar
2 c. cake flour
1 c. buttermilk
1 small can coconut
5 egg whites
1/2 c. vegetable shortening
5 egg yolks
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation

Cream butter and shortening.
Add sugar and beat until mixture is smooth.
Add egg yolks and beat well.
Combine flour and soda and add to mixture alternately with buttermilk.
Stir in vanilla; add coconut and nuts.
Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
Bake in three greased pans (9-inch).
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes or until done.
