Baked Onions - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 stick butter
6 medium onions, sliced
1 can cream of chicken or celery soup
1 c. milk
salt and pepper
3/4 lb. Swiss or Gruyere cheese, grated
French bread slices
melted butter
Preparation

Butter 2-quart shallow baking dish. Melt stick of butter in skillet over medium heat and add onions. Cook 10 to 12 minutes until tender. Pour into casserole. Mix soup, milk, salt and pepper in bowl and pour over onions. Sprinkle with cheese. Melt extra butter; dip one side of bread in it. Arrange on top (butter side up) to completely cover top. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes or until brown. Serves 8.
