Meat Ball Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. ground beef
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 egg
    1 Tbsp. minced onion
    1/2 c. soft bread crumbs
    1 Tbsp. oil
    3 Tbsp. flour
    1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes
    1 c. water
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. crushed basil leaves
    3 medium potatoes, diced
    4 small carrots, diced
    1 onion, chopped
    1 branch celery, sliced
Preparation
    Mix beef with 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, pepper, egg, minced onion and bread crumbs.
    Form into balls the size of walnuts.
    Brown in hot oil.
    Remove balls from skillet; pour off all fat except 3 tablespoons.
    (If you have less than 3 tablespoons, add more oil.) Blend in flour.
    Stir in remaining ingredients.
    Bring to a boil; simmer over low heat 10 minutes, adding more water if necessary. Add to meat balls in a 2-quart casserole.
    Bake, covered, at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour or until veggies are tender.
    Makes 4 to 6 servings.
