Sweet Candy Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. sliced cucumbers
    1 Tbsp. alum
    9 c. sugar
    vinegar
    1 c. pickling salt
Preparation
    Fill with water and 1 cup of pickling salt for 14 days.
    Drain off and wash.
    Fill with water and 1 tablespoon alum for 24 hours. Drain, fill with vinegar for 24 hours.
    Drain off and add 3 cups sugar the first day, 3 cups the next day, 3 cups next day for 3 days.
    Leave in same jar.
    Take out as you want them.
    Better if they are chilled or kept cool.
