Porcupine Meat Balls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. hamburger (1 lb.)
    2 Tbsp. grated onion
    2 Tbsp. minced bacon
    1 tsp. minced parsley
    4 beaten eggs
    1/2 c. milk
    1/2 c. tomato juice
    pinch of nutmeg
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 c. uncooked rice
    1 can mushroom soup
Preparation
    Mix hamburger, onion, bacon and parsley.
    Mix in other ingredients and shape into balls, then brown in shortening.
    When browned, add the soup and tomato juice.
    Bake in a slow oven or covered skillet for 1 1/2 hours.
    When done, the rice will stand out like the quills of a porcupine.
