Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 egg
    2 Tbsp. molasses
    1 c. sour milk or buttermilk
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Mix 5 first ingredients as you would for pie crust. Set aside 1/2 of this mixture. Make hole in remaining dry ingredients; add egg, molasses, buttermilk, soda and salt.
    Mix well; pour into 9 x 13-inch cake pan which has been greased and floured. Sprinkle 1/2 cup reserved dry ingredients on top. Bake 30 minutes in preheated 350\u00b0 oven.
