Texas Goulash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground chuck or beef
    1/2 whole onion, chopped
    1 1/2 cloves garlic, minced
    1/4 medium green pepper, chopped
    5 or 6 mushrooms (fresh cooked or canned), sliced
    4 or 5 stewed canned tomatoes, chopped fine (add a little juice)
    1/2 can tomato paste (small)
    1 Tbsp. oregano
    1 bay leaf
    salt and pepper to taste
    1/2 tsp. sugar
Preparation
    Saute onion and green pepper, then meat.
    Saute mushrooms last; brown all.
    Add rest of ingredients.
    Add water to simmer down.
    After mixture boils to consistency desired, simmer another 30 to 45 minutes longer.
    Melts together with time.
    Serves 4.
