Strawberry-Apple Danish Star - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 (16 oz.) pkg. hot roll mix
1 c. confectioners sugar
2 medium size sweet apples (such as Golden Delicious, about 12 oz.), peeled, cored and diced (about 2 c.)
1 1/2 c. chopped fresh, ripe strawberries
1/3 c. granulated sugar
1 Tbsp. grated lemon peel
3/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 large egg, lightly beaten
1/4 c. sliced almonds
1 Tbsp. lemon juice

Preparation

Prepare hot roll mix according to package directions, stirring in 1/2 cup confectioners sugar. After mixing, cover bowl of dough tightly with plastic wrap.
Let stand in warm place 10 minutes.
