Lima Stew With Meatballs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. large dry lima beans
    4 1/2 c. water
    1/4 c. flour
    1/2 c. cold water
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1 c. sliced celery
    1 c. sliced carrots
    1/2 c. chopped onions
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 bay leaf
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Rinse beans.
    Place in Dutch oven.
    Add the water and boil 2 minutes.
    Cover; let stand 1 hour (or soak overnight).
    Do not drain.
    Combine flour and cold water.
    Stir into beans.
    Cook until thickened and bubbly.
    Add vegetables.
    Fry beef with onion. Add to beans and vegetables.
    Add tomato sauce.
    Salt and pepper to taste.
    Place bay leaf in bottom of casserole.
    Spoon mixture into dish.
    Cover and bake in 375\u00b0 oven for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Stir occasionally.
