Apple Cheddar Cornbread - cooking recipe

1 c. cornmeal
1 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1 egg
1 c. milk
1/4 c. margarine, melted
2 tart apples, cored and chopped
1/4 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
Preparation

Preheat oven to 425\u00b0.
Grease 9-inch square baking pan.
In large bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, sugar and baking powder.
In a medium sized bowl with mixer on medium speed, beat egg, milk and butter.
Add to flour mixture stirring until moistened.
Stir in apples and cheese.
Pour into prepared pan.
Bake 20 minutes. Cool on wire rack 10 minutes.
Cut into squares serving warm.
