Mulled Cider - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 qt. apple cider
    20 whole cloves
    1/2 c. sugar
    12 sticks cinnamon
    14 whole allspice
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients in a large, heavy pan.
    Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes.
    Allow to stand 12 hours. Strain and re-warm to serve hot.
    Serves 8 to 10.
