Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. boiling water
1 c. oatmeal
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1 1/3 c. flour (self-rising)
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 Tbsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
2 eggs
Preparation

Pour boiling water over oatmeal.
Set aside to cool.
Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Mix brown sugar, white sugar, flour, shortening, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and eggs.
Beat 2 or 3 minutes; mix in oatmeal.
Bake in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan at 350\u00b0 until done (approximately 45 minutes).
