Barbara Flemings Apple Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/2 c. flour
1 c. shortening
1 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. vinegar
Milk
6 - 8 apples
2 Tbsp. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation

Using pastry blender cut together 2 1/2 c. flour, shortening and salt.
In small bowl mix 2 Tbsp. vinegar with enough milk to make one cup.
Add liquid to dry ingredients and mix.
Add additional flour until crust is no longer sticky and can be rolled out easily.
Peel, core and slice apples.
Place in pie plate lined with bottom crust.
Sprinkle with flour, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Dot with butter and cover with top crust.
Slit top crust. Bake 10 minutes at 450\u00b0 then lower heat to 350\u00b0 for 30 - 35 minutes.
Check that apples are soft with fork or knife.
