Hot Bacon Dressing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 slices bacon
    1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
    1 egg, beaten
    1 c. water
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/2 c. vinegar
Preparation
    Fry bacon until crisp.
    Drain, place on paper towel.
    Reserve drippings in small saucepan.
    Combine sugar, salt and cornstarch. Add beaten egg with vinegar and mix well.
    Add water, heat until thick.
    Add crumbled bacon and drippings.
    Serve warm over garden, spinach or endive salad.
