Favorite Pot Roast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. salad oil
    1 (4 lb.) beef rump roast, rolled
    1 bay leaf
    2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. pepper
    1/2 tsp. thyme leaves
    8 medium potatoes, peeled
    8 large carrots
    1 lb. small white onions, peeled
    1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    water
Preparation
    Heat oil in a Dutch oven.
    Brown roast on all sides.
    Add the bay leaf, salt, pepper and thyme leaves.
    Cover and cook over low heat for 3 hours.
    Will make its own juices.
    After 3 hours, add your potatoes, carrots and onions and continue to cook over low heat for another hour.
