Aunt Grace'S Hickory Nut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. butter
    1 c. sweet milk
    2 1/3 c. flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. hickory nuts, chopped
    1 tsp. vanilla
    4 egg whites, beaten lightly
Preparation
    Cream sugar and butter.
    Add milk, flour, baking powder, nuts and vanilla.
    Fold in egg whites.
    Bake in three 9-inch layer pans at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 30 minutes.
