Asparagus Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 tsp. salt
    8 to 10 medium potatoes
    1 can cream of mushroom soup (10 3/4 oz.)
    3 c. Cheddar cheese
    5 c. asparagus, cooked
Preparation
    Brown beef and onion.
    Sprinkle salt over meat mixture; let mixture simmer.
    Peel potatoes and boil until done (soft).
    Drain potatoes and mash them with a hand mixer, adding 1/4 cup milk and 1 tablespoon butter.
    Drain meat mixture.
    Place meat on the bottom of a 9 x 13-inch casserole dish.
    Sprinkle 1 cup cheese over the meat.
    Drain asparagus and put over cheese.
    Sprinkle 1/2 cup cheese over asparagus and then pour cream of mushroom soup on.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
    Remove and add potatoes, then sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
    Place in the oven until cheese is melted.
    Cool for 5 to 10 minutes before serving so it can set up.
