Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. sliced cucumbers
    8 large onions
    2 large sweet peppers
    1/2 c. salt
    4 c. vinegar
    5 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
    1 tsp. turmeric
    1/2 tsp. whole cloves
Preparation
    Wash cucumbers and slice thin, leaving peel on.
    Chop onions and peppers; combine with cucumbers and salt.
    Let stand 3 hours. Drain well.
    Combine sugar, vinegar and spices.
    Bring to boil. Add the liquid you drained off cucumbers.
    Heat but do not boil. Seal in jars.
