7 Layer Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. rice (uncooked)
    1 (14 oz. plus 1) can whole kernel corn, drained
    2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
    1/2 c. finely chopped onion
    1/2 c. finely chopped green pepper
    2/3 lb. uncooked ground beef, seasoned with salt and pepper
    4 strips bacon, cut in half
Preparation
    Place these ingredients in layers in a 2-quart baking dish with tight fitting cover.
    Place the rice and whole kernel corn in layers.
    Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
    Pour 1 can tomato sauce and 1/2 can of water over the first 2 layers.
    The next layers will be the onion, green pepper and the ground beef.
    Pour second can of tomato sauce and 1/4 can of water over all.
    Cover meat with the bacon.
    Bake, covered, at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    Uncover and bake about 30 minutes longer.
    Makes 4 to 6 servings.
