Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/4 c. boiling water
1 c. oats
1 stick butter or margarine
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 1/3 c. flour
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. light brown sugar
1 stick butter or margarine
1/4 c. cream
1 c. coconut
Preparation

Mix boiling water and oats and let stand for 20 minutes. Cream together shortening and sugar; add eggs and beat well.
Add oats mixture.
Add dry ingredients and mix well.
Bake in a greased sheet pan at 275\u00b0 for 35 to 45 minutes.
While still warm, put topping on cake and return to oven to broil for about 5 minutes.
