Pinto Bean Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 cup sugar
1/4 cup shortening
1 egg
1 1/2 cup flour
2 cups cooked and mashed pinto beans
2 cups diced raw apples
1 cup walnuts
1/2 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1/2 teaspoon allspice
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup raisins
1 teaspoon vanilla
Preparation

Cream sugar, shortening: add egg.
Sift together dry ingredients.
Add creamed mixture.
Stir in beans, apples, raisins, nuts and vanilla.
Pour into greased and floured loaf pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour 15 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
