Hide And Seek Meatballs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. soft bread crumbs
    1/2 c. milk
    2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
    2 tsp. sage
    1 tsp. salt
    1 lb. ground chuck
    3 Tbsp. fat
    1 large onion, chopped
    1 c. applesauce
    1/2 Tbsp. prepared horseradish
    1 c. diced or chopped fresh tomatoes or canned
    1/8 tsp. basil
    pepper to taste
    pastry for 9-inch single crust pie
Preparation
    Combine first 5 ingredients; mix well.
    Add beef and mix well until well blended.
    Form into small balls.
    Brown on all sides and put in casserole.
    Drain off all but 3 teaspoons of fat and saute onion, then add applesauce, horseradish, tomato, basil, salt and pepper.
    Pour over meatballs.
    Top with pastry.
    Serves 6. Bake at 400\u00b0 for 30 to 40 minutes.
