Snicker Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 German chocolate cake mix
    1/2 c. margarine
    1 pkg. caramels
    1/3 c. milk
    1 c. chocolate chips
    1 c. chopped dates
Preparation
    Mix cake according to directions on box.
    Bake 1/2 of mix in 9 x 13-inch pan for 20 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Melt caramels, margarine and milk.
    Pour over baked portion of cake.
    Top with chocolate chips and nuts.
    Pour remaining cake mix on top.
    Bake 20 minutes at 275\u00b0, then 10 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Needs no frosting!
