Pecan Sandies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. pecans (or other nuts)
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    1/2 c. plus 2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 c. confectioners' sugar
    2 1/2 c. sifted cake flour
    2 tsp. vanilla extract
Preparation
    Chop nuts rather coarsely and set aside.
    Work or cream butter or margarine and shortening together until smooth.
    Then beat in confectioners' sugar gradually.
    Stir in flour thoroughly and add vanilla extract and nuts.
    Mix well and drop by teaspoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 15 to 20 minutes or until a delicate light brown.
