Cole Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large head cabbage
    1 bell pepper
    1 small can pimentos
    2 medium onions
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. vinegar
    3/4 c. salad oil
    2 tsp. salt
    3 Tbsp. celery seed
    2 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Grate the cabbage.
    Make layers of cabbage, onion rings, bell pepper rings and pimentos.
    Over the whole thing, sprinkle 1 cup sugar.
    Do not stir.
    Heat together vinegar, salad oil, salt, celery seed and 2 tablespoons sugar.
    Pour over cabbage mixture; refrigerate for 12 hours, if possible.
    This seems to improve with several hours refrigeration.
