Ingredients

4 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. molasses
1/2 c. shortening, melted
1/4 c. butter, melted
1/3 c. boiling water
Preparation

Sift together flour, soda, spices and salt.
Combine molasses, shortening, butter and water in large bowl.
Add dry ingredients to liquid and blend well.
Cover and chill several hours or overnight.
