Ingredients

1/2 flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. sugar
1 Tbsp. cocoa
1/4 c. milk
1 Tbsp. shortening, melted
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. chopped nuts (if desired)
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
2 Tbsp. cocoa
3/4 c. boiling water
Preparation

Sift flour once.
Measure; add baking powder, salt, granulated sugar and 1 tablespoon cocoa.
Sift again.
Add milk, shortening and vanilla.
Mix only until smooth.
Then add nuts.
Pour into greased casserole or small baking dish.
