Garlic Bread Sticks - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted self-rising flour
    1/4 c. shortening
    3/4 c. milk
    1 stick butter or margarine, melted
    2/3 c. grated Parmesan cheese
    2 tsp. oregano leaves
    1/2 tsp. garlic salt
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 450\u00b0.
    Cut shortening into flour until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
    Add milk and stir with a fork only until dough leaves sides of bowl.
    Turn dough onto lightly floured board or pastry cloth and knead until smooth.
    Roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness.
    Cut dough into 1/2-inch strips with floured knife. Cut strips into 3-inch sticks.
    Dip sticks into melted butter and roll into mixture of Parmesan cheese, oregano and garlic salt. Place on lightly greased baking sheet, about 3/4-inch apart.
    Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.
    Makes 3 dozen sticks.
