Baking Powder Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    2/3 c. milk
Preparation
    Stir flour, baking powder, cream of tartar, salt and sugar. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles crumbs.
    Add milk all at once.
    Stir until dough clings together.
    Knead on a lightly floured surface for 10 to 12 strokes.
    Pat to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut with a biscuit cutter.
    Bake at 450\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes on an ungreased baking sheet.
