Sandwich Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 Tbsp. milk
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 c. nuts, chopped
    1 c. dates, cut fine
Preparation
    Cream butter.
    Add
    sugar
    and\tblend it.
    Add eggs and milk. Stir until well mixed.
    Mix baking powder and salt with flour. Combine
    mixtures.\tAdd
    vanilla.
    Mix smooth.
    Spread to 1/2-inch thickness\tin
    greased and flour-dusted cake pan. Cover with dates.
    Layer
    nuts over dates.
    Beat 2 egg whites until stiff. Add
    1
    cup
    brown\tsugar
    to beaten egg whites. Spread over layer of nuts.
    Bake 25 minutes in a 350\u00b0 oven in an 11 x 8-inch pan.
