Holiday Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. shortening
    1 egg
    2/3 c. honey
    2 3/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1/3 c. sugar
    1 tsp. lemon flavoring
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Mix the shortening, sugar, egg, honey and flavoring thoroughly.
    Measure flour and sift together with soda and salt; mix well with shortening mixture.
    Chill dough.
    Heat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Roll dough out to 1/4 inch thick.
    Cut into desired shapes. Place 1 inch apart on greased baking sheet.
    Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.
    When cool, cookies can be iced and decorated.
    Makes about 5 dozen 2 1/2-inch cookies.
