Chicken And Sausage Jambalaya - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 to 3 lb. fryer
    1 lb. smoked sausage
    salt, black and red pepper to taste
    1 c. flour
    3 Tbsp. Crisco
    3 large onions, chopped
    5 ribs celery, chopped
    2 cloves garlic, chopped
    1/4 bell pepper, chopped
    2 c. rice
    1 can beer *
    2 1/2 c. water
    2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cut up chicken.
    Put flour, salt, pepper and red pepper in bag.
    Add chicken and coat well.
    Brown chicken and sausage in Crisco and remove from skillet.
    Add onions, celery, garlic and peppers to skillet and brown until wilted.
    Return chicken to skillet.
    Cover
    and
    simmer about 30 minutes until chicken is tender.
    Add sausage and rice to chicken.
    Stir thoroughly. Add beer,
    water and salt and cook until rice is cooked, about 30 minutes.
