Pear Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sugar, divided
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. grated lemon peel
1/4 tsp. ground coriander
6 c. sliced, peeled ripe pears
1 unbaked (9-inch) pastry shell
1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground mace
1/3 c. butter or margarine
vanilla ice cream (optional)
Preparation

In a bowl, combine 1/2 cup sugar, lemon juice, peel and coriander.
Add pears and toss.
Spoon into pie shell.
In a bowl, combine flour, cinnamon, mace and remaining sugar; cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Sprinkle over pears.
Bake at 400\u00b0 for 45 minutes or until pears are tender.
Serve warm or cold with ice cream, if desired.
Yields 6 to 8 servings.
