Mother'S Frittle Fruit Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. Crisco shortening
    1 egg, beaten
    1 tsp. soda dissolved in 1 c. sour milk (add 1 tsp. vinegar or lemon juice to 1 c. milk to sour)
    1 1/2 c. flour plus 2 Tbsp. flour
    2 Tbsp. cocoa
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
    1/2 c. pecans
    1/2 c. dates
Preparation
    Cream together sugar and shortening.
    Add egg.
    Sift flour and cocoa together.
    Alternate flour and milk to batter.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Pour into greased and floured cake pans. Bake at 350\u00b0 about 25 minutes.
