Ingredients

1 1/2 margarine sticks
1 c. white sugar
2 c. brown sugar
3 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. black walnut meats (or 1 c. pecan pieces)
5 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
Preparation

Melt margarine.
Add white sugar and brown sugar, eggs and vanilla.
Mix well.
Sift salt, soda and flour together.
Add half of dry ingredients and beat.
Stir in walnuts (or pecans).\tBlend in rest of flour mixture.
Shape into two long, thin rolls and wrap each in plastic or waxed paper.
Refrigerate or freeze. Slice and bake as needed.
Bake at 400\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes depending on your oven and thickness of slices.
