Portuguese Red Bean Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 ham shanks
1 medium size \"Gouvea's\" Portuguese sausage (linquica) or kielbasa
1 can beef broth
2 c. red beans, soaked overnight
1 can tomato sauce
1/4 tsp. allspice
2 Tbsp. oil
1 onion, chopped
3 Tbsp. chopped parsley
2 potatoes, diced
1 c. cabbage, chopped
Preparation

Boil the ham shanks and sausage in enough water to cover for about 20 minutes. Add beans and cook until beans are tender.
Add tomato sauce, chopped onion, parsley, potatoes and cabbage.
Cook until vegetables are clear.
