Southern Banana Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (4 oz.) pkg. Jell-O vanilla cooking pudding
    2 1/2 c. milk
    2 egg yolks, beaten
    vanilla wafers
    4 to 6 bananas
    1/4 c. sugar
    2 egg whites
    dash of salt
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Stir pudding mix and milk in saucepan. Add egg yolks.
    Stirring constantly, cook over medium heat until mixture comes to a full boil.
    Remove from heat.
    Arrange layer of wafers on bottom and sides of dish.
    Add 1 layer of banana slices; top with a layer of the cooked pudding mixture.
    Repeat steps again, ending with pudding.
    Beat egg whites and salt with electric mixer on high until foamy.
    Gradually add sugar, beating until stiff peaks form.
    Spoon over pudding.
    Bake 10 to 15 minutes or until meringue is light browned.
