Mom'S Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1 egg or 2 yolks
1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1 c. applesauce
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. raisins (optional)
1 c. chopped walnuts

Preparation

Cream sugar, egg or yolks and shortening; add and blend flour, cinnamon, salt, baking powder, soda, applesauce, raisins and walnuts.
Bake in a greased and floured 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
Best if baked in tube pan.
