Hamburger Rolls With Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. ground beef
    dash of pepper
    1 egg, beaten with 1 Tbsp. milk
    2 1/2 c. tomatoes (fresh or canned)
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. milk or water
    3 Tbsp. shortening
    1 medium onion, sliced
Preparation
    Mix meat with salt, pepper and water.
    Form into barrel shaped rolls.
    Dip into egg which has been beaten with the 1 tablespoon milk.
    Roll in bread crumbs.
    Heat shortening in heavy skillet and brown rolls on all sides.
    Rub tomatoes through sieve and pour over rolls.
    Add onion; cover and simmer 20 to 25 minutes, turning occasionally.
    Serve hot with the tomato sauce poured over the rolls.
    Makes 5 servings.
