Buttermilk Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. vegetable shortening
    2 3/4 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla or lemon extract (I use 3/4 tsp. of each, almond is good too)
    6 eggs
    3 c. all-purpose flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. soda
    1/4 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add flavoring.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    Sift dry ingredients together and add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk. Spoon batter into greased 10-inch tube pan and bake at 325\u00b0 for 1 1/4 hours or until cake tests done.
