Texas Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/2 c. boiling water
1 c. white corn meal
3 Tbsp. shortening
1/4 c. cream
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg

Preparation

Pour boiling water over cornmeal.
Chill mixture for 1 hour. Heat 2 tablespoons shortening in a heavy skillet.
