Ingredients

1 c. dried apricots, diced
1 c. crushed pineapple
1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 c. flour
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 c. nuts, chopped
1 1/2 c. flaked coconut
Preparation

Place apricots and undrained pineapple in saucepan.
Cover and simmer 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Mix in 1/2 cup sugar and simmer 5 minutes longer; cool.
Beat butter and 1 cup sugar together.
Sift together flour, salt and soda.
Gradually add sifted ingredients to butter and sugar, mixing well.
Add nuts and coconut; mix well.
Press 2/3 of this mixture into bottom of ungreased 9 x 13-inch pan.
Bake at 400\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
Remove from oven and spread apricot filling over crust.
Crumble remaining coconut mix over all.
Pat down.
Bake 20 to 25 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.
Makes 3 dozen.
