Biscuits For Two - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. all-purpose flour
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. sugar or substitute (optional)
    1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
    1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/4 c. shortening
    1/2 c. milk
Preparation
    In a bowl, combine dry ingredients.
    Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
    Stir in milk.
    Turn onto floured board; knead 1 minute.
    Roll or pat dough in 1/2-inch thickness. Cut with a floured biscuit cutter.
    Place on greased baking sheet. Bake at 450\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
    Makes 4 biscuits.
