Ingredients

1 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
1 egg, slightly beaten
2 1/8 c. flour
1 c. chopped hickory nuts
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Cream the butter and sugar together.
Add the egg and vanilla; blend.
Add dry ingredients and mix well.
Roll into 2-inch rolls; wrap in waxed paper and chill until firm.
Cut into 1/4-inch slices.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 7 to 8 minutes.
