Almond Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. water
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1/4 mandarin juice
    1/4 lemon
    1 oz. blanched almonds, chopped
    6 ginger snaps
    1/4 c. white vinegar
    1 mandarin
    1 oz. white raisins
Preparation
    Crumble cookies in water, stir until smooth; boil.
    Add sugar, vinegar and mandarin juice, simmer for 10 minutes.
    Finely chop mandarin and lemon, peel and fruit.
    Add citrus fruit, peel, raisins, and almonds, simmer for 20 minutes.
    Best with ham or pork.
    Sauce freezes well.
    Makes 2 cups.
