Divinity - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. white corn syrup
    1/2 c. water
    2 egg whites
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Cook
    the
    sugar, corn syrup and water without stirring until mixture
    forms a hard ball (spins a fine thread).
    Pour slowly into
    the 2 egg whites which have been stiffly beaten. Beat
    until mixture loses its gloss.
    Add vanilla and chopped nuts. (Maraschino cherries may be added, if desired.) Drop by tablespoon onto waxed paper, lifting and twirling to form peak on each mound.
